Solana Foundation announced the launch of "Kora", which focuses on fee payment and remote signing. It is paired with Solana Keychain's standardized settings and tool chain to allow development teams to manage transaction fees, token policies and signature environments in a more consistent way.

Solana The foundation officially launched "Kora" a few hours ago, with the goal of allowing transactions in the ecosystem to support fee payment or handling fees in tokens of one's choice, and to support outsourcing signature work to a secure environment.

The post pointed out that the launch of Kora was due to the previous lack of "modern, standardized" fee sponsorship and remote signature solutions. Although the Solana account model itself provided feasibility, there were no ready-made tools on the market, so it was developed and provided by the foundation.

Core functions: fee payment, arbitrary token payment and remote signature

Kora The unlocked functions include three major aspects:

First, "fully sponsored handling fee", that is, the designated fee wallet will pay the transaction cost

Second, "paying handling fee with any token", including the use of stable coins as a payment medium

Third, "remote signature", which transfers the signature process to a secure environment, such as Turnkey or AWS KMS, which is common in enterprises.

Solana Foundation mentioned that Kora supports 6 remote signature schemes and provides a mechanism for monitoring fund balances and metrics. It can provide timely reminders when the fee wallet has insufficient funds to reduce the risk of transaction failure.

Expense management and user experience

In general, Kora's fee payment mechanism can support user experience optimization at the "application level": for example, the service provider pays the handling fee, allowing end users to complete transactions "free of charge" in specific situations; or payment of handling fees in stable currency reduces cost uncertainty caused by fluctuations in the price of the underlying token.

On the other hand, remote signature allows enterprises to manage keys and signature processes within the existing security infrastructure. Coupled with fund balance monitoring and measurement indicators, it is helpful for the operation team to understand the status of expense cash flow and risks.

The release of Kora fills the gap of "lack of standard tools" in the ecosystem. In the future, we will continue to observe the integration and effectiveness of each application in fee payment and signature management.
